3 GREAT reasons to join us for Bob Cline's 4-Week Musical Theatre Audition Technique Workshop!

Work creatively with Bob Cline in this 4-week workshop and hone your musical theatre audition and cold reading skills! 

Each week Bob will work with you to make your material powerful, connected and effective. 

Present your work to a legit Agent on the final night. Each actor works every class.

Technical Requirements

  • ​Computer with camera
  • Zoom account (free)
  • Ability to scan and upload sheet music and download tracks to/from a Google Drive (link provided)
  • ​Reliable Wifi connection

Curriculum

  • One week PRIOR to class, Actors will upload up to 4 songs, (audition cuts only, 24 - 42 bars max) to a Google Drive folder provided for you. Sheet music not provided.
  • Professional accompaniment tracks will be made for you.
  • Two more songs may be uploaded after Class 1 based on Bob's recommendations, or to round out your allowable 6.
  • Tracks will be used in the online class and are yours to keep. 
  • Class 1:  Work with Bob on your favorite audition cut, receiving feedback and direction to make it pop!  
  • Class 2:  Work with Bob on feedback/homework given the previous week and receive new songs suggestions. 
  • Class 3:  Work with Bob on new songs and choose for final week.  
  • Class 4:  Warm up your piece with Bob and then present to an Agent or a Casting Director of Bob's choosing. ​

Bob Cline

Bob Cline has cast film, TV, commercials, over 70 national tours, and hundreds of regional theatre productions across the country. Bob's casting credits include: The National Tours of Memphis, Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver, Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, Hairspray, Rent, Drowsy Chaperone, Full Monty, Cabaret, Complete Works of William Shakespeare, 39 Steps, Music Man, Oklahoma, Showboat, Victor-Victoria, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and others.

Regionally, Bob has had his hands in casting shows at over 30 LORT Theaters, including, The Fulton Theatre, Maltz-Jupiter Theatre, Northern Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, St. Louis Repertory Theatre, The Longwharf, The Pioneer Theatre Company, The Olney, Merrimack Rep., Cumberland County Playhouse, Theatre By The Sea, Arkansas Rep., The Marriott Lincolnshire, and many more.

Bob is a proud faculty member, at Pace University, in their BFA Musical Theatre Program, in charge of the senior musical theatre majors. He is also a member of the committee for incoming freshman accepted to Pace.

At Pace, he has directed sold out productions of Cabaret and Bare, Tommy, Kiss Me Kate, Spring Awakening, and this spring’s… Once On This Island.

Bob had the pleasure of directing Betty Buckley, Tuc Watkuns, Christy Carlson Romano, Martha Plimpton, Jason Kravits, and Elaine Stritch in Ben Andron's White's Lies both at the Jerry Orbach Theatre in NYC and Off-Broadway at New World Stages.

Bob is also an innovative director who has become well known locally for his many successful productions. All three shows he has directed for the Vital Theatre Company, in New York; Medusa; Bright, Apple, Crush; and Kiss and Tell have been nominated and/or won the Sam French Festival. 

Other acclaimed productions include Violet, Songs for a New World, (both nominated, best director, RECT), and A New Brain (winner, best director, RECT), In The Heights, Evita, Parade, Sweet Charity, Nunsense, The Sound of Music, Titanic, Side Show, Godspell, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, The Full Monty, A Year with Frog and Toad, Falsettos, Assassins, Jesus Christ Superstar, Gypsy, Crimes of the Heart, Company, Rent, Ragtime and his favorite Das Barbecü.

Bob has taught and coached actor’s privately and through the Actor’s Loft for the last 20 years, in NYC.
